A fun build which has everything I would include if I was going to keep it as a personal player. The Brierley Broadcaster pickup set is highly versatile and will cover pretty much any genre of music from jazz to hard rock. It has a thick muscular twang on the bridge pickup and when the tone is rolled off a little it has a very solid hard rock tone which is just great if your amp is breaking up.. The neck pickup is airy, transparent and warm. It has a big honky tonk 50's style riffing tone which will also give smooth warm jazz sounds with the tone rolled back. Ageing the finish and hardware is a challenging and creative exercise for me. A good bit of fun was had getting it looking just right. A perfect finish is required before the ageing process is begun so there are costs that have to be met in the end price. My client was very happy on all counts and the aged look fitted him very well. He was after a guitar that looked as though it had been around the block a few times and sounded like the early 50's Broadscasters.
