The design brief was for a guitar that worked like a tele but was different to the others he owns. I worked up this design with Joe giving the OK at each stage of the project development as he had a very specific outcome in mind.

Joe chose the timbers and was involved at all stages of the build. He now feels the guitar is very much a part of himself and has said publicly that he'd take it to his grave. He ended up with a unique guitar which has a beautiful tone quite unlike any I have built previously. It can be heard extensively on Joe’s double album "The Prospector's Doubt / Here's Luck!" Obviously the the DNA of Leo Fenders 1948 design is hard to miss.

Joe says "The guitar is amazing. it's the best I have ever played. The tone is like nothing I’ve heard before."

The bridge, saddles, ferrules and string tree are by Rutters guitars. I used the very best available parts throughout this build.
