Tronocaster $700 ono
This is a fun machine and turned out to be a very rockin' guitar. To me there is nothing that is more fun than a strat with two buckers. I built it up from spare parts, some new and some used. Perfect if you are looking for serious tone on a budget. It would also be ideal for a young player showing promise who needs to upgrade to a fair dinkum guitar that plays great and has killer tone out of the box. Definitely no more to spend.
Excellent rock maple neck with really nice rosewood board, low action and a very righteous tone. A great combo of Duncan Pearly gates bridge and Duncan '59 neck which goes from searing brutality on the bridge to a fat, warm sweetness on the neck that really sings. Sounds magnificent clean and very raunchy with overdrive. Under heavy distortion it is nothing short of screaming madness. The gotoh tremolo bridge hangs on very well and is an excellent repro of a vintage '54 strat. Features a massive steel sustain block with a cold rolled steel plate and pressed steel saddles. Yummo!
Controls are volume, tone, tone with a 3 way toggle. Not quite Gibson not quite fender and works very well. The bridge pickup is quite aggressive wide open and with some tone rolled off you get thick, chunky riffing tones. Roll of the neck and you get perfect "woman" tone thick and sweet like chocolade'. A high pass filter is on the volume control which retains the high end response as it is rolled back.
This type of guitar doesn't often come up for sale here very often and I'm going to let this one off the lead for $700 ono. First to play will buy if past experience is anything to go by.
