The Numbcaster - S-Type - 59-240518
Prrototype built with the Gilmour black strat as a baseline for some of the features. Obviously the colour scheme but there were a c ouple of major points that need covering for the owner. We needed a pickup set that would get as close as possible to the Gilmour tones. The player it was built for is eminently capapable pro player so it was decide to engage Mick Brierley to build a special set for it based on specs of the original to be known as "The Numbcaster" set. It was also specified that the switching needed to designed so the neck pickup could be switched in combination with either of the other two. The switch had to be mounted as shown, just below the volume control and under the pick guard. As soon as I plugged this guitar into an amp I knew we had succeded. Even under my somewhat challenged fingers I could here echoes of those immense tones generated and recorded on those early 70's Pink Floyd albums.
