Whitey -Model T B90 Hotrod #40-130315 - Sold -
Not often I get to recreate a custom job. My client Max from California decided he liked the looks of #40 Whitey so he asked me to rebuild it. It is exactly the same apart from the big neck on #40 which was replaced by my standard C profile with slightly heavier medium jumbo fret. Predictably the results were the same.
A raw, gutsy tone typical of the best a pair of P90. pickups can give. Massive sustain with a rich piano like response on the bottom end, shimmering bell like highs. The bridge pickup delivers a solid punch in the head while neck is warm and thick like chocolate. Beautiful jangly rhythm tones with both pickups in parallel.
A guitar for a wide range of genres. great choice for hard rock blues and modern country. This guitar will team up well with amps breaking up at high volume

Max's comments on the Whitey #2
The guitar is here and it is spectacular! It's beautiful
looking, classic, and It sounds amazing. So far, I've only tried the clean
tones because it's too late at night to push my amp very hard. But the cleans
are very glassy and clear. People often forget that P90s are perfect for
cleans as well as balls out hard rock sounds. Tomorrow, I'll take it out to
the studios and unleash the beast I know is in there.
Took Whitey to the studio tonight. I think it might
be my favourite guitar, and I have quite a few! I wanted to ask you about
the pickups. They're terrific. There's no hum I can hear and they sound fantastic.
Carlton custom built instruments are made to exacting standards using top quality air dried tone-woods and the finest quality, industry standard hardware available. They are built by my hands from start to finish specifically for you. I I won't compromise quality for price. I am dedicated to creating fine tone unlike the multinational guitar factories that are dedicated to making money.
