Double S Type Serial No. 50-160616 -
A dream that became a reality, the Double Tuxedo S-type . A twin neck S type of this quality cannot, as far as I am aware, be purchased anywhere. Fender Japan produced a run of 200 double strats of typical VJ quality in the 80's modelled on the twin neck strat they built built for Yngwe Malmsteen. These were factory grade guitars of typical Vintage Japan quality. All have disappeared into collections and you are highly unlikley to see one come up for sale. If you did find one be assured the quality will be nowhere near that of this guitar. Top grade quartered timbers were used for the neck shafts with stunning dark indian rosewood fingerboard giving warm, clear tones. The Alder body is selected for its light weight and evenness of density making it surprisingly light and resonant. The electronics are simply the best available as is all other hardware chosen. Every last part used in the build is of the finest quality available.
The necks are activated with the toggle switch just below the 12 string bridge.. Dimarzio twin coil noiseless pickups with gotoh bridges and tuners. Necks are of the finest quater sawn Canadian Rock Maple / Indian Rosewood and the body is of lightweight American Red Alder. The tone is magnificent on either neck and is powerful and hum free.
Definitely not for everyone but if you have thirst for a Double S Type you won't do better than ordering one of these. Pickups electronics, hardware and configuration are your choice as each one is a full customised, one off instrument.
