No. 18-100411 The Taipan
I named This guitar after the Taipan, a deadly and very aggressive Australian snake. Similar colours with a big presence and totally devastating when in attack mode. It was built from scratch here in my workshop. The neck and body core is Victorian ash. A tough plain grained very resonant hardwood milled in the mountains north east of here. It is a pleasure to work with and has a bright and spanky tone. The cap is Queensland maple and the fretboard is Indian rosewood. Tone is aggressive and fiery and I was actually quite surprised at how belligerent this guitar could be. In contrast there is miles of warm and mellow if you need that. It will generate controllable feed back in the right conditions.

Sometimes the unexpected is the most exciting! This will most likely be my main fret weapon! It's hand made in Melbourne with all Aussie tone woods & was Rays personal stage guitar for a year.
This belligerent tone box is loaded with incredible sounding pick ups hand scatter wound in Adelaide by Mick Brierley. These humbuckers are vintage low output PAF’s that are very punchy, bright and aggressive ! It also has a neck pick-up tap, for out of phase Peter Green tones! The Taipan will be perfect for Medicine Man, Vampire, Serpentine & some of the new ballads!
